Festival of Care: Forumtheatre by Theatre for Change Galway (Ireland)

Who Cares for Whom? is a forum theatre play by Theatre for Change Galway (Ireland) that explores the many sides of a system that speaks of inclusion, yet often forgets both those who make it happen and those who need to be supported.

We accompany Fiona, a dedicated care worker and team leader in a residential facility. There is cause for celebration, because thanks to great leadership and the successful implementation of numerous integration projects, the facility has been nominated for the city’s mayor’s award. But behind the façade, things are simmering: overworked staff, unfilled positions and a management that is more concerned with keeping the documentation up to date in order to pass inspections by the authorities than with supporting the employees.

The audience is invited to look at who carries the weight when care reaches a crisis and to step in, reflect, and imagine better alternatives. Bringing an Irish perspective to the Festival of Care, this performance reminds us that these issues are closer to home than they may seem.

Diese Veranstaltung ist auf Deutsch – Englische Flüsterübersetzung wird angeboten.
