We are very happy to announce that we are part of the consortium of the HORIZON EU Project Push*Back*Lash. We lead Working Package 9 in which we will develop TO interventions to counter anti-gender backlash and anti-feminisms based on the research of renowned European professors and researchers in the field and work with students and civil societies in Austria, Netherlands and Hungary.
We have developed forum plays with these students that have been performed locally. On January 16th 2025, there was a legislative theatre event building on that in Amsterdam which deals with gender based violence in universities. We developed policies and implementation plans for universities that make real change in people’s lives. Here is what we achieved together with our audiences and policy makers in the field in our revised policy report. We also developed a toolkit for universities and NGOs on how to cooperate with Theatre of the Oppressed NGOs like ours to make real change. Lastly, we also evaluated our work and assessed the project. The results can be found in our Integrated Report. It shows that TO led to empowerment and from believing in individual conscious raising towards taking collective action. Also, participants believed that TO is a training for real life and a wonderful method of embodied and emotional learning that leads to a deeper understanding of structural inequalities and oppression.
