…einen, der eine andere Welt vorstellbar macht und schon nach der anderen Welt schmeckt. Theater der Unterdrückten gibt uns die Vorstellungskraft und den Mut, anzupacken!
…einen, der in der Lage ist auf die zivilisatorischen Krisen von Klimakollaps über zunehmenden Faschismus Antworten zu finden: Lustvoll, mutig und selbstbestimmt unser eigenes Leben und die Gesellschaft aktiv gestalten zu lernen um trotz komplettem gesellschaftlichen Abfuck glücklich sein zu können. Theater der Unterdrückten ermöglicht uns diese gesellschaftliche Probleme gemeinsam und horizontal zu verhandeln.
…einen, der uns ein verletzliches und sicheres Begegnen ermöglicht, das wir mit unseren Körpern erproben, um es danach in der Realität zu verankern. Theater der Unterdrückten schafft mutige und sicherere Räume hierfür!
Lass dich ermutigen: Komm zur Theater der Unterdrückten Wien Academy vom 8.-12.5.2024! Wir bieten neben Theater der Unterdrückten Workshops unserer eigenen und internationaler Workshopleitende*r auch Aufführungen (u.a. als ein Rainbow of Desires sowie von Resilient Revolt) und einen Lesekreis zu Boals „Übungen und Spiele für Schauspieler und nicht-Schauspieler“ (sic!) an. Alle Programmpunkte finden entweder auf deutsch oder englisch mit Übersetzung in die jeweils andere Sprache statt.
Nach einem gemeinsamen Ankommen am Mittwoch abend, gibt es von Donnerstag-Samstag je einen aufbauenden Vormittagsworkshop und einen aufbauenden Nachmittagsworkshop. Am Sonntag vormittag gibt es eine kleine Präsentation der Workshopergebnisse und einen gemeinsamen Abschluss.
Gemeinsam schaffen wir einen Raum für tiefgehende methodische Auseinandersetzung mit Theater der Unterdrückten Methoden und thematische Arbeit rund um unser Thema.

…one that makes another world imaginable and already tastes like the other world. Theater of the Oppressed gives us the imagination and the courage to take action!
…one that is able to find answers to the crises of civilization, from climate collapse to increasing fascism: To learn to actively shape our own lives and society in a joyful, courageous and self-determined way in order to be happy despite the complete social fuck-up. Theater of the Oppressed enables us to negotiate these social problems together and horizontally.
…one that allows us a vulnerable and safe encounter, which we test with our bodies in order to anchor it in reality afterwards. Theater of the Oppressed creates courageous and safer spaces for this!
Let yourself be encouraged: Come to the Theater of the Oppressed Vienna Academy from 8-12.5.2024! In addition to Theater of the Oppressed workshops by our own and international workshop leaders, we also offer performances (including a Rainbow of Desires and Resilient Revolt) and a reading circle on Boal’s „Exercises and Games for Actors and Non-Actors“ (sic!). All program items will be held either in German or English with translation into the respective other language.
After arriving together on Wednesday evening, there will be a build-up morning workshop and a build-up afternoon workshop from Thursday to Saturday. On Sunday morning there will be a small presentation of the workshop results and a joint conclusion.
Together we will create a space for in-depth methodical exploration of Theater of the Oppressed methods and thematic work around our theme.
